I started doing some digital and found it frustrating from the start drawing with a pen tablet really doesnt feel natrual to me at all and i like the sense of creating something that you can actually feel and touch something physicial so im leaning towards going back to pencil work and really focusing on that rather going into the digital stuff now. Digital painting though i dont mind that and im pretty good so far so might might ink and colour some hand drawn stuff in photosho.

I was looking on DA and it just got me thinking a more traditional means might be better for me.

Traditional like pencil and paper?

I hardly ever use the pen tablet from scratch. I usually draw everything with a pencil first, then scan it, and color it in PhotoShop. Cause your right.. pen tablets feel very unnatural.. there very hard to get used too.

Yeah i tried doing some line work working with actual pencil and paper just gives a better sense of scale and such and is well easier. Plus the way i draw i have a standard tablet which isnt very big and i prefer working on a bigger scale so its working against it.

Seeing as im doing pencil work im gonna pick up some supplies kind of a fresh start with drawing alot of my old stuff is worn down and beaten.

That's where I got my stuff last time. Not sure if you can order from the UK though. The pencils I got were fantastic! I'll never draw with a regular #2 lead pencil again lol.

Beware of the Prismacolor colored pencils though. I heard all good things about them so I ordered some.. mistake! I couldn't even trim them because the lead inside was broke all to peices. Could have just been a bad batch though.

Little update i didnt get to far on this not sure what it was but it wasnt going anywhere. In other news im working on anouther project game which is starting some pre production stuff this week. Im getting a bit of focus back for game design but mainly stuff to do with narrative and concept design so yeah focusing more on that.

Putting a blog up soon which will cover it all so ill post that whenever its up.
